Description

Hi. I’m looking please to identify the maker of this cherub candlestick.

On the base it has a blue marking. it looks like an S with 2 lines, and it is imprinted Ad 1822.

This candlestick is one of an identical pair, the other one has the same markings but the cherub is broken off.

What you have is a example of 20th Century Dresden China, it looks older because it was meant to resemble 18 century examples made by the famous Meissen Porcelain works. The marking appears to be one uded by made by Sitzendorf
