Capidomonte? Majolica? Porcelain vases, porcelain perfume bottle

By mistibythesea, 12 September, 2012
Description

LOT OF 3 VERY UNUSUAL PIECES.  They appear to be a male, female and a child? The tallest seems to have a male face, the medium a female face and the smallest piece a child's face and a baby face. These have initials on the bottoms which say, "SLH, JDJ, and/or TAP": The smallest only has 2 sets of stamped initials.  I have searched high and low and cannot find these rare peices anywhere! There is a small one which looks like a perfume decanter, a medium rounded one and a tall one. The largest and smallest have 2 faces. The small perfume one has 2 faces and 2 birds, like a heron. I have no idea how old they are but I am aware from the lady who gave them to me about 5 years ago that they were "quite expensive" and were "older".

I have emailed countless people and places about these and the consensus is they have never been seen and are one of a kind.

Re: Lot of 3 unusual porcelain handmade pieces: Male, female...

I was told by a fiend that she saw the little one for $300 about 17 years ago she "thinks".  A man at an art store in Fl. told me the same.  He said the "guy" who was the artist stopped making these in the 80's but he didn't "know" anything else, like a name or state "he" (why threee sets of initials?) was from, etc.  I have them listed on Craigslist for $1500 but I don't know if I am underbidding myself so I came here.  I am dying to know more...
