Description
All I know about this chest is that my mom had it. It was around for as long as I can remember. I don't know where or when she got it. It has no marks on it that I can see. It went through a trailer fire we had about 20 years ago. She also had a travel trunk that I know my dad's mom gave to her back in 1956 when they moved from Illinois back to Alaska. I don't know if she also brought this cedar chest with her. I would like to find out the maker and year if possible. Thanks for any help!
Re: Cedar Chest
Cedar chests like this tend to date from the 1930's and are in the Art Deco style popular during that era. They were mass produced items, of which huge numbers of them still survive. Even examples in perfect condtion often sell for less than $300.00, damaged examples often sell at auction for $75.00 or less.
