Here I have a cedar/hope chest with NO manufacturer or logo that is visible to me. It seems to be cedar inside with an overlay on the outside. It has very simple detail on the front and is missing the latch/lock. It doesn't seem to have had legs, but I did remove two rotten planks from the bottom and 4 corners which seemed to be made of old Lewis Osterweis and Sons cigar boxes. I have included pictures of what I removed to prehaps aid in identification. I have looked over all the surfaces and can't find anything to help identify this chest. Based on the image this chest, as most of them do, dates from the 1920's, virtually every furniture maker had a line of them and they were made in the ten's of millions from about 1914 to 1960. They nearly always had feet or casters, damaged examples have very modest values, often selling for under $75.00 if in need of repairs.
