From my Mothers' side familly originated in Lemington Spa area
Granfather was an Engineer but there is evidence of a Sea Captain
Item looks oriental possibly Japanese
Would like some more info i.e. Age, Origin, Purpose, approx value
given holes in base ( four ) we thought perhaps umbrella stand
mounted on a brass plinth
