Chandler Cast Iron Adjustable School Chair Butterfly Swivel

By birdieuno, 13 December, 2012
Description

This a small childs desk chair from around 1890's made by Chandler cast iron of Worcester, Mass. The height is approx. 21" high the seat made of wood is 12" across. The seat back brace is in the design of a butterfly. I read something about this and can't remember where. It has patent dates and Chandler on the base. The patent dates are not completely readable from little feet rubbing on it for over 100 years. There are two top says Nat. Nov 8 '92, bottom says Pat. July 9 '88 I'm guessing at this.

Re: Chandler Cast Iron Adjustable School Chair Butterfly Swivel

No huge value for chairs of this type, they are usually coupled with a matching desk or drafting table. We retail chairs like this on their own for less than $150.00.
