Rayons du Soir Print by Charles Cottet (1863-1925). Has embrossed mark in lower left corner by Campbell Art Co., Elizabeth N.J. Lower right corner shows Ch Cottet and the number 18 can be seen below that, but it appears the number has been cut off. The painting this was done from was done in 1892 and depicts the bay at Camaret on the western coast of Brittany. It appears to be in the original wood frame that did have gold leaf coloring on it. The paper on the back has since come off, but remants remain. Wood frame appears to be mahogany. Frame measures 28 1/2" X 20 1/2 " and print roughly measures 25" X 17". I found this at an estate sale in East Texas in the top of a barn & bought it because of the old heavy wood frame. When I got it home and cleared the dust off the glass I saw this print. The frame is in good condition but the paint is heavily soiled and coming off in some places but other wise in great shape. The print is in overall good shape, but some bugs have gotten to a few places on the print and eaten the paper but not all the way through it. I am wondering if there is any value to this and if so who would I approach to sell it and can the print be reconditioned. Otherwise, I still love the frame and will redo it and use it.
