They quit making stoves under this name in 1949 Here is what we found on the backside: "Charter Oak Air Tight #24 Stove and Range Company, St. Louis USA" ********************************************** Excelsior Manufacturing Company of St. Louis, reorganized in 1895 under the name of Charter Oak Stove and Range Company. Giles Filley invented and introduced the Charter Oak Cooking Stove, which was manufactured until 1949. Charter Oak is the oldest stove in the west, and this stove was one of the largest wood burning stoves every made.
