Re: chinese carved bamboo brush pot
It's a brushpot, and judging by it's apperance its prob. from Indonesia (Java or Bali), the Cowlike figure is a breed of cow thats been domesticated on Bali.
Could be 19th or 18th century (or even older)
I would advise to get it appraised by a expert in this field
Re: chinese carved bamboo brush pot
Many thanks ChineseQing.
I am trying to find an expert but its not easy.
Re: chinese carved bamboo brush pot
You should try to contact Sothebys or Christies, they usually will be able to tell. Dont contact the smaller auction houses, most of the time they have no idea what they are auctioning
Re: chinese carved bamboo brush pot
thanks again, do you think it might be of value?
Re: chinese carved bamboo brush pot
it could be worth 100's of dollars if its old, if it not old you might still fetch around up to a 100 dollar for it
