Description
This is a jewelry box (I think) that is made out of teak, at least to the best of my knowledge. It has very detailed relief carving on the top and all 4 sides, even the feet have some detail. It was brought back from Amoy, China by a relative who was Vice Consul in 1902. It has been in my family ever since. It is kept in a wooden outer carrying box that has some Chinese writing on it, I have yet to be able to translate it. There is also some writing on the bottom of the box itself. The dimensions are 4 3/4" x 5" x 8 3/4". It is lined with red velvet, and has a lift-out tray, also lined with red velvet.
