Description

Nothing is known of this game set's history. It was given to my Mom who was going to discard/destroy it. I loved the ornate carved design and needed a small dining set for my cottage so I asked for it and recovered the seats. The pics were taken during the transition. The set consists of a table and four chairs. The table top is approximately 42" square, ball n claw footed legs, a small drawer with brass looking pull, carved trim outlining the top, and chip holders on the outset corners. The chairs have ball n claw front legs, lyre backs, yoke looking tops, woven web inset seat cushions, and exquisite carving. One chair back/yoke was damaged in transit to my parents home and was adequately repaired but not restored.  A friend recently suggested it might be Chippendale. How can I know if it is and what might it be worth? Thanks!
