Based on what I can see this is a "Empire Revival" piece, meant to resemble American Empire furniture origianlly mad circa 1815-40. Most of it dates from the 1920's to 30's, but it resurfaced again in the 1980's.

Given it was owned by Grandparents, it would at least be from 1920's or 30's.

The style is not currently very popular and hard to sell, the last big demand for furniture in this style was in the early 1990's and has since then declined a great deal. We'd retail a comparable one for about $350.00.
