Chinese Print / Poster - 3 Females Roller Skating in Park
This print was purchased from an estate sale by my mother a few months ago. We found the scene to be very unique.
The paper color has an aged look. Don't know if it has turned with age or was originally this color. (You can see the paper fibers close up in photo of the seal)
My mother reframed it (see 1st and 2nd photo)
It's original frame that was falling apart had a sticker that read "New England Picture Frame Co. PHONE EXBROOK 6167 486 Sutter St. San Francisco". (see 3rd photo) Upon researching the shop, I found an entry in a 1933 SF phonebook. Also, given the exchange number, which was converted to dial in 1953, I am guessing  the print is circa 1930s.
I was told that the signature is in Kanji. My source also said that the seal was in a very old script. He thinks it is pre-1940s.
After much internet research, all I could deduce is that it is slightly reminiscent of Shanghai Posters of the 1930s, with the exception of the subject matter.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated as I am very curious about its origins.
Thank you!
