Description A Louis XVI period commode (or chest of drawers) which retains all of its original pulls, marble top. This demilune style commode has three central drawers to the front. The marquetry to the front depicts a male suitor and a women. (see photographs). The piece is 43 inches wide, 33 inches high, 20 inches deep. It is in excellent condition--undamaged marble, structurally sound construction, with no missing veneer. This is a reproduction of a original Louis XVI. It is excellent condition and has been in my family for over thirty years. I do not know the original manufacturer or it production date. There is some marking on it and no manufactures name. If this was a original 1800 piece it would be valued over $10,000.00. See link. This piece maybe one made by the J.B. Van Sciver Furniture Company was a major national furniture manufacturer located in Camden, New Jersey from the 1880 through to the 1970s http://cgi.ebay.com/Antique-French-Louis-XVI-Demilune-Commode-Chest-ca-1780_W0QQitemZ370355580318QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAntiques_Furniture?hash=item563ae9ad9e I will only accept Paypal as a form of payment for this item and it is local pickup only.
