You items is a smoking stand and or humidor from the Depression era used for tobacco storage. The inner lining is not actually copper but tin colored to look copper. If you are looking for a value it hard to determine but typically a nice unit like this would fetch 500.00 to 750.00 at an fine furniture auction (this one looks a little rough). The piece would date around 1920 to 1930's. Take good care of it :)
