Drop front desks like these tend to date from the turn of the 19th Century. The company that made this desk was established in 1881 in Piqua, Ohio, the Cron-Kills Company was founded by A. J. Cron, R. B. Kills, Henry Flesh and Samuel Zollinger. The company produced a variety of wardrobes and ladies’ desks and was one of the largest businesses in Piqua and boasted one of the largest and best equipped furniture producing factories in the state of Ohio. The company ceased trading around 1940.We currently retail desks like this in either very good original condtion or refinished for about $325.00
