Description Face of the print looks to be an original Currier and Ives print, however on the back is printed: This rare lithograph, reproduced by Nathaniel Currier and James Ives, represents an exciting, memorable period in American history. The age of the steam locomotive. American Railroad Scene, created in 1874 by the firm of Charles R Parsons and Lyman W Atwater, was one of a number of paintings immortalized by Currier and Ives. This particular print is considered a collector's item, since it is one of only three original copies known to be in existance. And it goes on to give a history of the railsystem. Also, at the bottom right corner is a "stamp" with the logo of Mid-Continent Telephone System. As the print mentions, there were only THREE of these copies in existance... and I have all three. Sorry to say you don't have a "Roadshow" treasure. The notations on the back of the prints is without foundation as I've personally seen five of the originals sell this past two years, and they were produced in large numbers. The Currier & Ives Lithographs are probably the most reproduced prints in North America. Most copies sell for under $100 in a good frame.
