Reference: Valuation of knife
Good day
I have enclosed a few pictures taken of a knife that I recently inherited. I would like an idea of what this item is worth as there is nobody in my town that has the expertise to tell me.
The knife is made of 18 carat white gold with malachite inlay on the handle. It was made for the sultan of Brunei in 1986. It is 34,5 cm long and weighs 900grams (plus or minus).
It has the engraving of Aspey London and various other markings which I have noted in the pictures.
It also has a crocodile skin sheath. Please give me an estimated value for insurance purposes and, if possible some history on this knife. Should you not be able to assist me, is it possible to either send me details of someone who can or else forward my request on to the correct establishment.
