Re: Dai Vernon Silhouettes
You are correct that Vernon was a famous magician - perhaps the most influential close-up (think: card and coin tricks) magician of all time and certainly of the 20th century.
But he was largely an amateur magician and made the bulk of his money at various times during his life cutting silhouettes. They're highly prized by collectors but don't command huge sums of money. Vernon cut tens of thousands of silhouettes in his 98 years, so they aren't rare by any means. The set like the one you've shown here would probably bring about $200 - 300 on eBay or similar auction sites. They show up on eBay regularly - at least 10 - 15 a year.
