Description

I'm cleaning house and trying to decide what is worth keeping, selling or tossing of the things I've accumulated through the years. This piece is a mug with a windmill painted on one side and a flower on the other. On the bottom of the mug is painted 'DELFT MUG EXCLUSIVELY FOR FIGIS INC'

Figis Inc is a Wisconsin Gift Basket Company that was formed in the Mid 1940's specializing in cheese, farm produce and gift baskets. They now have various other products they sell.This DELFT (style of cup was commissioned by them in the 1980's most likely to be placed in a gift basket.)   Today Delfts Blauw (Delft Blue) is the brand name hand painted on the bottom of ceramic pieces identifying them as authentic and collectible. This leads me to believe it was made in China or Japan and labeled as per the "Delft Mug" style for the FIGIS Company..

Est Circa 1980's   Value $5 - $15 US
