Designer Oblong Metal Container

Description

The box has pictures on each side and on the top.  On the right side is a picture by Pieter De Hooch with the dates 1629 -1677.  It is of a woman & little girl, with a little cloth pouch.  The picture on the left side is also a picture by Pieter De Hooch dated 1629 -1677.  This one is of a man & woman with wine glasses & another woman by a large barrel.  The picture on the back is by Frans Hals, dated 1580 -1666.  It is of a boy playing a string instument. On the front is a picture by Rembrandt, dated 1606 -1669 & is of an elegant woman.  On the top is a picture by Gerard Doli, dated 1613 -1675 & is of 2 women and a baby in a bassinet.

The metal box is completely gold with embossed gold around all the pictures and brushed design on the outside body. All of the corners are rounded and smooth.

Container says "made in Holland". Do not know if that is the country or a city. Pictures on all sides& top, with embossed gold trim around each picture.

Was given to my husband by his mother and she received it from her mother. My husband is 71, so we do know that it has been in the family for quite awhile. Not sure how far it dates back to, though.
