Dining Chairs- HELP me identify them PLEASE!!!!

By bnasar, 31 January, 2011
Description

I have no idea the origin or time period of these chairs! I would greatly appreciate any help in this matter. They have sentimental value in our family so I am planning to have them recovered to keep them. Thanks!

Re: Dining Chairs- HELP me identify them PLEASE!!!!

Based on what I can see they don't appear to be that old, it's in a mismash of Antique European styles, which makes it look far older than it actually is. Could you post some images of the underside of the chairs?

Re: Dining Chairs- HELP me identify them PLEASE!!!!

the underside has a thin fabric with tacks pinning it into the wood. does not appear to be recovered as when we took off the fabric of one chair, there are no other holes. I will take pics of the underside and post tomorrow. There are no markings inside the bottom of the chair or anywhere else.

The wood looks very old, but the upholstery lookd like 70's vinyl. could they have been recovered. Looking at the corners, It looks like that may be the case.
