I found this old press release photo tucked away in a night on bald mountain vinyl record cover that I got out of a box of records I picked up at a garage sale.
On the bottom border of the photo it says this:
---- The music in fantasia was recorded by RCA and reproduced by equipment especially designed and developed by that company in collaboration with the Walt Disney studio. Walt Disney's full length feature production FANTASIA in multiplane technicolor distributed by RKO Radio Pictures. Copyright Walt Disney Productions permission is hereby granted to magazines and newspapers to reproduce this picture on condition that it is accompanied by the copyright notice----
From doing research I found out that RKO Radio Pictures was the distribution company for Fantasia in the 1940's and then in 1946 the distribution company became Buena Vista. So I believe that this was a press release photo for either the 1940 or the 1941 release of Fantasia. The photo is numbered 41/253. The back of the photo is blank.
Even though there is an image attached I would like to say that the photo has a tare and is not in the best shape.. how ever the actual image is in pretty good condition, it is only the border that suffered from some damage.
I am trying to figure out the rarity and value of this item. I also would love to learn aobut the history of the item if anyone has info as why the photo is numbered and if there is a way to tell what year it was released. Thanks for taking the time to read this, I thank you in advane for any responses.
