Description

This is not an old piece, but I would like to know who manufactured the clake plate and what the materials is.

 

The pedestal of the cake plate is Towle WA silver plate, but I have never seen the mark on the plate before

The Mark if I am understanding your describing for it, appears to be a older symbol for And or something like apart of or something to stand for combination so I'm gonna say M and SL which means that there are a few who are apart of the making it. Looks like it was made custom at a small business or something like a garage business and the initials are logo based design.

I don't have a listing for the mark, but there should be a listing of glass companies that worked with Towle silver online somewhere. I doubt though it will make any difference in the value of this piece, they are pretty common and ofte go for under $20.00 at auction.
