PLEASE HELP!!! Will the chip take away from the value? I don't know too much about how the antique market works and it is hard to find another piece quite like this.

i found a biscuit barrel with same pattern that sold for $86

Obviously damage can detract from value, sometimes by up to 90%

but still a lovely item, i would estimate about £35

If you could post an image of the hall marks ( silver markings) a date could be nailed down. Sadly damaged pieces like this often sell far below the value of a comparable bowl in undamaged condtion, at under $35.00.
