Perfect condition, beautiful Dresden plate from Italy. Has a city scene on front with a bronze statue of a horse (somewhere in Italy no doubt). The intricate edges appear like lace - cut outs you can see through. The plate is a vibrant meditteranean blue mostly with light blue and white on the edges.
I saw another of its type on ebay, they called it:
MEISSEN RETICULATED COBALT-BLUE GROUND CABINET PLATE
LATE 19TH CENTURY, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK, IMPRESSED 109, 63, AND 89
Painted after Watteau with a courting couple in a wooded landscape within a gilt floral cartouche, the pierced border as trellis and forget-me-notsThis plate is heavily gilded throughout, more so than other similar Meissen examples.Primary Material:
Ceramic & Porcelain
Age:
1850-1899
Size: 10 in. (25.4 cm.) diameterThis one SOLD for $2,999.00
I'm pretty sure mine is 12" vs. 10 (can re-measure); and it clearly says DRESDEN on the back, not Meissen (don't know what Meissen is).
