Sorry, side one of letter opener is brass with an encraved scroll containing the words du pont explosives. it is beautiful engraving. side 2 of the handle has beautiful engravings with a stick of dynamite, a roll of the wire use for explosives and looks like the box in which they made dynamite go off. The silver letter opener is engraved Du Pont on one side and Memphis 1908'. The item i am sure is worth alot of money to someone
