Re: Dutch maidens in garden portrait

Very pretty.

Look for signatures/initials in the corners, if any. They may be hard to see if it is dirty.

If it is a print, check the back for printer's marks. Also for indentations from the printing process.

Can you get proof of age? That helps too.

Paintings and prints are one of those items that are very hard to evaluate on line. There are so many things to look for and at - some you can only do in person - that unless someone recognizes that exact image it's doubtful you can get any meaningful evaluation. [For example, it's difficult to shine a black light on it over the internet, and that tells you something about if the paint in a painting is new or not.] One thing you can do is find a Dutch painting expert (i.e. gallery, museum) and contact them, since you indicated you thought it was Dutch. They might at least tell you who painted it.

As a pretty anonymous older print, in the size you mention, in good condition (your photo is pretty dark for me to tell that or not) I'd peg it at around $30-$50. If you can get more details and confirm the age etc. the price would go up of course.

It does look well enough done that it's likely a dutch master's work.
Don't forget to examine the frame it's in too, if it came with the print. Frames changed over time too and it could help date it!

Hope that helps.
