Description I am looking for information concerning the name of the style for this particular chest and a for a possible value. I purchased this piece from a local "picker" who obtained it from an estate. There are very minor dings; the key is missing; the cards are stapled inside; the removal inner shelf is intact with no damage; the style/serial # tag is still on the bottom.

It's in the Art Deco style, some refer to these "Waterfall" after the curved top's resemblance to a crest of a waterfall. The Roos company was in business from 1916 - 1951, operating in Forest Park Illinois. The company produced these chests in all the popular styles from Colonial to Art Deco. Most furniture in this style was produced during the mid 1920's until World War II. Values vary considerably for these chests, depending on quality of construction, wood type and how close they follow original period designs. Most today sell for under $300.00 .
