Description I bought this at an auction in Central Ohio about 10 years ago for $35. I believe it is a Heat Lamp due to the large coil filament and the reflector behind the bulb. It gives off heat and light. It seems to be a scientific instrument. I haven't been able to find any info on the net about this device. The only writting is on the outside of the socket. It states: EDISON GENERAL ELECTRIC CO NEW YORK U.S.A. PATENTED DEC 30 1891 Is this rare and valuable? Or is it a mass produced item?
