Eight Immortals Ivory carving

By giordievenson, 5 February, 2010
Description

29” Tall 14 inch circumference – 14 pounds

Clearly real ivory – passes hot pin test and the grain is plain even in pictures. There are a few extremities broken.

Appears to be a carving of “The Eight Immortals.”

The seal carved "Da Qing Qian Long" meaning Qing dynasty Emperor Qian Long, which is 1736-1795.

However there is also some sort of import tag that reads Manufacturer of ----- Made in Hong kong BCC

Re: Eight Immortals Ivory carving

This is probably the finest and largest ivory carving I have ever seen. Depending on the age, I would ask $10,000 for the piece if you were selling retail and $5,000-$7,000 at auction. What a piece!
