Description

I have a set of four figurines that I acquired a couple years back from a deceased elderly family friend. These figurines instantly caught my eye as they are unique and very detailed. One of the figures had a "Indian Village-St. Ignace" sticker on it from years back. In an attempt to gather information, I visited Indian Village a couple weeks back. Unfortunately, they could not provide me with any information and did not have any products that were similar. They did, however, advise me that these statues were very old.

I contacted the St. Ignace, MI Chamber of Commerce to inquire about them. One of the gals researched further for me and got in touch with the family that used to own Indian Village. She advised me that the statues appeared to be made by Universal Statuary Corp.

I looked up this manufacturer, but it has long since been out of business.

My figurines are in great condition. Minimal chipping, paint has remained in excellent shape, and features are still defined. I believe they are actually made from plaster/chalkware, but am not certain. Any information would be beyond appreciated :)

Thank you!
