Serial number on inside watch dial is 8623540 and says Elgin Natl Watch Co., U.S.A.

Serial number on inside watch back is 2876758 and says Illinois, Watch Case Co., Elgin, U.S.A., Peerless, Guaranteed 20 Years.

Re: Elgin Pocket Watch

According to it's serail number ( the one on the watch movement) your watch dates from 1899, one of one million Elgin made that year. Values for Elgins depends a lot on the case, its design and the metal it's made of. Unless it's a gold case most Elgins of this vintage sell for under $200.00.
