Embossed Aluminum serving tray with Pedastal

By Mrn9826, 15 September, 2008
Description

Beautiful embossed serving tray, with removable pedastal tray that sits in the middle. Both pieces have embossed roses on them, and the handles of the main tray has leaves embossed onto them. This pair has a "ruffle or flower tyoe shape to it. It is dated on the back as being from 1820. It is great condition, and I may consider selling it depending on what I can find out about its history.

Re: Embossed Aluminum serving tray with Pedastal

Based on your description and the markings, it's highly unlikely this piece dates before the 1920's. The marking "1820" is simply a mold or model number, not a date. Markings that contain "Inc" for incorporated was seldom used until the 20th century. Such pieces often sell for less than $50.00.
