I have found encyclopedia sets increasingly hard to sell over the last decade, but a complete set in very good condition should still bring around $75-100. I think craigslist.com or your bulletin board at work may be the best place to sell them if you ever decide to. I have tried internet auctions in the past for encyclopedia sets with little luck. Just my 2 cents.
