Description

The item has a few scratches in the back and a corner piece missing at the top right. There are two halves which sit on top of each other but they appear to be same color, different styles. THe top style has a japanese style print on it and the bottom piece has a shell in the middle of the door. The wood appears to have been stained a very dark brown color for both pieces and they appear to be from the same marching set.

Distinguishing marks Stickers on back of item indicate the piece is from "Hampton Depository" Queen.... Bottom Half has door with sconch shell in the middle. Top half appears to have Japanese style background between shelves. Small top right corner piece missing.

History 2 Stickers on the back of the item written "Hampton Depository". This was a furniture store in the UK, located near Queen Subway station (current location). The property was later sold to the Canadian Government. This piece is know to have furnished the Canadian Consulate in New York City and was given to me by a government official's former chauffer who received it as a gift. The original furniture store apparently existed during the late 1800s to the early 1900s.
