Enterprise coffee grinder

By Amylee, 30 August, 2016
Description

This piece was found in my grandmothers basement after she passed. It needs a good cleaning which I plan on doing today. It's cast iron from what I see others post on the Internet. My question is for general information on it, it's worth and what I should use to clean it. Is says from Philadelphia, there are numbers on it but they are not currently legible because of all the grime on it.

Re: Enterprise coffee grinder

These tend to date from the late 19th century and were a very hot decorator item during the 1980's through 90's when the old General Store decor look was popular. Comparable examples to yours that have been restored or are in very good original condition still can sell for over $2000.00 at auction.

Re: Enterprise coffee grinder

Wow, thank you. I saw some on the Internet selling for quite a bit but I assumed mine would be a fraction of that because of all the filth. Hopefully I can get it cleaned up and possibly look at getting it into an auction. Than you again for the information.
