Fashion Ware Fashionware Tea Set 1942

By Amy Krueger, 9 March, 2009
Description

Peacocks on pot and peacock feathers on serving cups
this might be a Saki set unsure....
Fashion Ware is in Green writing and underneath fashion ware is cirle of leaves small to large and at bottom of circle 1942 is in a box. then SnowBoneChina is in green and dark gold writing of 3 symbols.
The peacocks are on both sides of teapot and there is a small square of pink on each side of peacocks. gold trim on spout, around top of teapot and each little cup is trimmed in gold and handle for lid is also trimmed in gold.
Lid "locks" onto pot opening. I haven't been able to find any info anywhere. I also looked into the US patent office for trademarks. So far hasn't yielded any matches.

Re: Fashion Ware Fashionware Tea Set 1942

From what I have seen there is not much demand for this maker. Cup & saucer sets sell for $5.00 to 25.00 each online in varying patterns.

HAENG NAM. possibly is the maker, they where established in 1942 and are still in business in SEOUL, KOREA I think.

Re: Fashion Ware Fashionware Tea Set 1942

I have this exact same tea set. I was in the Army and stationed in Korea in 1997. I bought this same set. Are you absolutely sure it is 1942? My reason for asking is becuase it is identical to mine. Even if it isn't worth anything right now, it is still a beautiful addition to my china cabinet.

Re: Fashion Ware Fashionware Tea Set 1942

Sets like this were mass produced for the export market and a favorite item purchased as gifts for the folks back home by troops stationed in the far east. values for it are very modest with whole sets sell for under $50.00 at auction

Tourist trade stuff, does not look old at all. Likley 1980's to moder day. Worth whatever someone would pay for it (-/+$20). Doubtfull anyone is "working on some info" past that, as there's nothing else to say.
