I bought this item labeled: "Federal Automatic Fixed Focus Enlarger" I paid $10 for it because it looked interesting and I have never seen anything like it before. I looked on the internet and found nothing, I just want to know an estimate on what an item like this is worth.

It is, in fact, a #835 Automatic Fixed Focus Enlarger made by Federal. From advertising in the late 1930s:
"Makes 3 1/2 x5" enlargements from double frame 35 mm negatives (equivalent sections of negatives up to 4x5") for slightly over one cent and 2 1/2x 3 1/2" enlargements for less than one cent per print/ Does not require special printing paper. Now anyone can enlarge miniature film to generous album size with less effort than making a contact print and at no greater cost. No focusing required. Simply insert the paper, press switch a few seconds and the enlargement is ready for development. Lamp included. $12.50"
This was a rather low-end/bargain device at the time and doesn't have any special value. Worth about what you paid for it, $10.

You can edit your post to show that it is for sale. Perhaps you should find someone to get it appraised, though not from this site. It could be worth more than you think.
Should also check out what the other person says, as well as do an online search with the information on the product itself, including the serial number.
And there could always be someone out there who collects such things.
I make lamps, and am always looking for interesting pieces. That cord switch looks rather neat to me.
