My husband and his sister bought this at a garage sale 20 years ago. We were getting ready to throw it out until I came across one almost like this on the internet. It was an 1890 flat top trunk that had been restored.

Trunks like this date from

Trunks like this date from the last quarter of the 19th Century. Though one can find identical trucks that have been fully restored selling for $400.00 most is "As Is" or "in the rough" often sell at auction for less than $75.00.

I TOO HAVE AN OLD TRUNK, I THINK IS VERY PRETTY, I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT IT IS WORTH, I BOUGHT IT FOR FORTY DOLLRAS I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING A STEAL, BUT AFTER READING UP AND RESEARCHING I'M GETTING DISCOURAGED ON THE MONEY ASPECT, BUT I STILL WOULD HAVE BOUGHT IT FOR FORTY DOLLARS, IT'S REALLY PRETTY.
