This table is listed in fair condition because some of the brass inlay (on the legs and a little on the drawer front) has lifted. None of the inlay material is missing and some has been clamped in place with c-clamps so that it doesn't continue to loosen. Also, the top was secured to the base with hardware and the wood in that area has broken and the top is no longer solidly attached to the base. This cannot be seen unless you remove the top. The hinges are solid and the brass inlay on the top is in perfect condition. The sides are very good. The drawer has a bit of inlay coming up. The legs are pretty bad, with large strips of brass coming loose. I think my uncle intended to have it repaired, and like him, I have given up on that idea. I actually don't even have a place for it in my home at this point, so it is time for it to go to someone who can repair it or love it the way it is, the way my uncle did. I think I gave up on it the day a loose piece of brass tore a skirt as I breezed past it. Not suitable for a home with children or pets!
