I bought this poster at an Antique sale and was told it was a hand painted poster from France. I don't believe it was actually hand painted because of the consistency of the poster, I have researched the history of it and found it was first created by a french painter named Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and is a painting of a cabaret singer/comedian named aristide Braunt. A lot of the copies I have seen though do not have the mark on the left hand side that says, "lmp EDW. ANCOURT et Cie Paris (DEPOSE)" that is on this poster but the ones I have seen with the marking are worth a lot more, I even found one that sold in 2003 for $57,300 I believe it said for a full size print but i'm not sure what size the full size is. But all the prints have the artists signature in common.
