Fresh Accents ii by Roz Oesterle

By yulianel, 26 March, 2025
Description

This is a painting by American artist Roz Oesterle called "Fresh Accents II". Signed by the artist.

The painting is likely served as a prototype for mass production prints of it that are still available on Amazon and other platforms: https://www.amazon.ca/Fresh-Accents-II-Roz-Oesterle/dp/B099D669RR

However, this piece is an original painting, as the brushwork can be seen and it is uneven to the touch. The painting is not covered for breathing, but I am not sure if it is oil, or acrylic, or some other technique.

I am also not sure about dating the piece, as I found no records on when it was created.

The frame is loose and there are some scratching marks on the borders of the painting.

Not sure if restoration is needed here.

"Fresh Accents II" by Roz Oesterle (Original Painting)

    • Unframed: 19.75" H x 15.5" W
  • Signature: Visible lower right, signed Roz Oesterle

    • Frame: Fair — loose and scratched, detracting from presentation value
  • Provenance: Found near university housing bins; no known sales history

Artist Background

Roz Oesterle is a contemporary American artist whose works are often reproduced and sold through popular décor channels such as Amazon, Wayfair, and Art.com. She is known for:

  • Florals and still lifes
  • Impressionistic strokes
  • Use of warm tones and inviting interior aesthetics

Her works are popular in both retail décor and hotel/hospitality settings, which makes her a widely known but modestly valued name in commercial art circles.

Original vs. Print

This is an original painting, not a print:

  • Brushstroke texture is visible and tactile
  • No pixelation or print-dot patterns
  • Canvas has minor stretching and natural surface variation

This original may have served as a prototype or commercial master for later digital prints licensed for mass production.

Estimated Market Value (2024)

Description

Estimated Value (USD)

Original Acrylic on Canvas, Unframed

$100 – $200

With Professional Reframing

$150 – $300

Comparable Mass-Produced Prints

$30 – $60 (not relevant to this original’s value)

Value Factors

âś… Recognizable and commercially licensed artist
âś… Confirmed original with signature
âś… Attractive, versatile subject matter (still life florals)
❌ Frame is in poor condition
❌ Commercial licensing may lower appeal to fine art collectors

Restoration Recommendation

Not required for the canvas itself — but:

  • Consider reframing professionally to enhance appeal and support
  • You may lightly clean or restore the frame if retaining the original

A reframed original by a known commercial artist will be easier to sell through platforms like:

  • Etsy (Original Art)
  • eBay (Collectibles > Original Paintings)
  • Chairish or Saatchi Art (with artist verification)

Professional Appraisal?

A full appraisal may not be necessary, but if you plan to:

  • Insure it alongside other artwork
  • Sell it at a gallery or auction
  • Verify authenticity or historical use in commercial production

Then seek a local appraiser or affordable online services like MutualArt.
