History Bought at a thrift shop with another American of Martinsville piece-an end table. I don't know much about antique/vintage furniture, but am learning. I read that this company began very early 1900's. In 2000 it was bought out by Lazy Boy(?). To my knowledge, they began making furniture for motels in the 1950's. I understand that this furniture is sought out and has great re-sale value, especially if the furniture was made for the public, as the furniture made for motels was more mass produced. From comparing similar images and private owner information, I think this piece was made in the 1930's or 1950's.
