Description

This item was from my grandfather who worked with Exxon/United Geophysical. Its described as a "dip strike resolver". Family lore is that my grandfather had a hand in designing it. Any information would be great. There is also an additional base and wooden box that contains plastic plates with angles etc. printed on them.
