My grandfather was an Optician in BelAir, Maryland. (He passed away around 1948 at a very young age). This boy with spectacles was placed next to another young boy, a tall piece wearing very dapper clothes and spectacles as well, in the front window of his storefront.
This piece is a Heubach painted porcelain bisque . The young boy is smoking a cigar or stogy. He has wonderful eyes that seem to follow one around the room!
He is in excellent condition (note detail on his collar) but it is possible the color of his hat is a tiny bit faded but I am not sure.
