Re: German Knife
What you have is a German Officer's dagger, from WWII, I have seen similar pieces with their original hangers intact, and they usually go for around $700-$1000, I would think without the hanger it would be around $500-$600, assuming it hasn't been sharpened, cleaned, or repointed. Despite it's tragic history, it is a very nice dagger!
Re: German Knife
Specifically you have a 1937 Pattern Luftwaffe Officer's Dagger (Second Model Luftwaffe). They are fairly common and you are missing all the accoutrements. Previous post had the price about right since I would not expect to see an etched or Damascus blade on yours. They are still really collectible and usually easily sold if you should decide to put it on the market.
