I have researched and found that she is a dancer, a "hat seller" form a certain Japanese play, perfomed in kabukis. The doll's face is very delicate and dainty, unlike other geisha dolls I have seen. The doll is now in my mother's possesion, was given to her when uncle passed away. Its kept in an airtight glass container.
