Description

this is an old rocking chair my grandmother has had as long as i can remember.  I am 43yr old not and she had it before i was born.  I can not find a name or a serial number on the chair at all.

ever two years or so she would get the seat reupholstered.  so it has not been done since maybe 1980.

I have attached pictures.

Category Furniture
Condition Good
History This is a chair my grandmother sat in every day I would sit at her feet and watch tv and color. she would sit in the chair in the eveings to read her bible quietly. It was the easiest chair for her to get out of becuase she could rock and push her way out of it. (I smile thinking about it now) No one has sat in the chair since she past in 1983. it just sits in my bed room as a childhood memory and a connection to my grandmother.

I would really love to find out anytihng i can about this chair who made it and when and does it have money value.

I hope to hear back real soon.

It's in the Mission Style which was very popular from about 1900-1916, most by the big name makers are such as Stickley, Limbert and Roycroft are well marked. Unmarked examples like yours often go for less than $150.00 at auction.
