Long Description
I am trying to find out if this is worth keeping or not. It has been in a box filled with a sweet smelling fuel in my garage. Any information about the date of manufacture would be great. It was in my grandparents possesion for a long time, but since they are gone now I cant get any info on it. It is pressed glass, says Hong Kong on the bottom. The metal is light weight and has not rusted at all. It has the original wick in it, but the fuel has been in it so long I am afraid to light it. I dont know what to clean the metal with so it is dusty.
History
It has been in my family for as long as I can remember and I am 35. I dont know where it came from or how old it is. I can not find any thing else even remotely resembling it.

green glass oil lamp
Your lamp is quite modern, of a type made during the 1970's when thwere was a brief revival in interest in oil lamps. Values for them are very modest, most sell at auction for less than $25.00.

What would you consider it's
What would you consider it's condition to be? What kind of oil does it use? How safe is it to ship if I were to sell it? What kind of metal is it made of?
Thank you for your help and the information. It makes sense that it was made in the 70's.Â
